Introduction

New Jersey Builds Fast and Dense - Your Model Has to Keep Up

New Jersey is one of the most tightly coordinated construction markets in the country. The Port of New York and New Jersey moves more cargo than any port on the East Coast, roughly 80 data center facilities already sit clustered across Secaucus, Newark, and Clifton, and industrial and warehouse construction has surged nationwide alongside the AI infrastructure build-out. On projects that dense, disciplines can't afford to coordinate on paper after the fact - they need one federated model everyone is building from.

Drafting Buddies builds that model. Our BIM team works in Revit, Navisworks, and Tekla Structures to develop architectural, structural, and MEP models from LOD 200 through LOD 400, running clash detection before drawings ever reach a fabrication shop or a jobsite. New Jersey is one of the few states where the Uniform Construction Code applies statewide with no local amendments, so a model coordinated to code in Trenton holds the same standard in every township across the state - and we build every model to that standard from day one. Statewide coverage is listed on our New Jersey drafting services page.

Sub-Services

BIM Services for Every New Jersey Discipline

Eleven BIM disciplines, modeled in Revit and coordinated to New Jersey UCC requirements before a single sheet is issued.

RU-01 · Architectural

Architectural BIM Modeling New Jersey

Full architectural Revit models built from design drawings or field-verified conditions, developed to LOD 200-400 depending on project phase. We model walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, and finishes with parametric families, keeping the model coordinated to New Jersey UCC barrier-free and life-safety requirements so egress and accessibility carry through design development into construction documentation.

  • Revit
  • LOD 200-400
  • UCC Check

RU-02 · Structural

Structural BIM Modeling New Jersey

Structural Revit and Tekla models for steel, concrete, and precast systems, built from engineering drawings and calculations to support connection detailing and fabrication hand-off. We model framing, foundations, and reinforcement to LOD 300-400, coordinated against architectural and MEP models so structural conflicts surface in the model, not in the field, on New Jersey's dense mid-rise and industrial projects.

  • Revit
  • Tekla
  • LOD 300-400

RU-03 · MEP

MEP BIM Modeling New Jersey

Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing Revit models covering ductwork, piping, conduit, and equipment, built to LOD 300-400 with clash-checked routing. Especially valuable on New Jersey's tight multifamily floor-to-floor heights and high-load data center facilities, where undetected MEP conflicts translate directly into costly field rework and schedule slippage.

  • Ductwork
  • Piping
  • Clash Check

RU-04 · Revit

Revit Modeling & Family Creation New Jersey

Custom Revit family creation, parametric content development, and model authoring for architects, engineers, and contractors who need standardized, reusable BIM content. We build manufacturer-specific and project-specific families, template standards, and shared parameters so your New Jersey project team works from a consistent, well-organized Revit environment across every discipline.

  • Families
  • Templates
  • Parameters

RU-05 · Coordination

BIM Coordination & Clash Detection New Jersey

Multidisciplinary clash detection run in Navisworks against federated architectural, structural, and MEP models, with clash reports categorized by severity and discipline pair. We track resolution through coordination meetings and re-runs, catching conflicts before construction on New Jersey's high-density commercial, healthcare, and multifamily projects where field changes are the most expensive.

  • Navisworks
  • Clash Reports
  • Federation

RU-06 · Scan to BIM

Scan-to-BIM & Point Cloud Modeling New Jersey

Point cloud registration and as-built Revit modeling from laser scan data, used for renovation, addition, and existing-building projects where accurate field conditions matter. We convert reality-capture data into coordinated LOD 200-300 models, giving New Jersey renovation and adaptive-reuse projects a reliable existing-conditions baseline before design begins.

  • LOD 200-300

RU-07 · 4D BIM

4D BIM & Construction Sequencing New Jersey

Schedule-linked 4D BIM models that tie the construction model to project timelines, giving GCs and owners a visual sequence of the build from mobilization through closeout. We link Revit and Navisworks models to schedule data to support phasing plans and logistics coordination on New Jersey's dense urban and industrial jobsites.

RU-08 · 5D BIM

5D BIM, Quantity Takeoff & Cost Estimation New Jersey

Model-based quantity extraction and cost-linked BIM development that pulls material and assembly quantities directly from the coordinated model. We support estimators and preconstruction teams with accurate, model-derived takeoffs, reducing manual quantity surveys on New Jersey commercial, multifamily, and industrial projects.

  • Quantities

RU-09 · Conversion

CAD to BIM Conversion New Jersey

Conversion of 2D CAD, PDF, or scanned drawing sets into coordinated Revit BIM models for firms transitioning legacy documentation into a BIM-based workflow. We rebuild architectural, structural, and MEP content as intelligent, parametric model elements rather than flat linework, giving New Jersey firms a usable model foundation for future design and construction phases.

RU-10 · Facility Management

BIM for Facility Management & Digital Twin New Jersey

As-built BIM models formatted with COBie-compliant data for handover into facility management and CMMS systems, supporting long-term asset and maintenance tracking. We build owner-ready digital twins from construction-phase models, valuable for New Jersey healthcare, education, and government facilities managing complex mechanical systems over their lifecycle.

RU-11 · Outsourcing

BIM Outsourcing & Production Support New Jersey

Dedicated BIM production support for architecture, engineering, and construction firms that need to scale modeling capacity without hiring in-house. We plug into your existing Revit standards and BIM execution plan as an extension of your team, supporting New Jersey firms through peak project loads on a per-project or ongoing basis.

New Jersey Building Codes

Modeled to New Jersey's Statewide Uniform Construction Code

New Jersey is one of the few states where a single Uniform Construction Code (UCC) applies statewide with no local jurisdiction amendments - every BIM model we build is coordinated against the current subcode editions below.

NJ UCC · In Effect Statewide

2021 I-Code Basis

SubcodeCurrent Base Edition
Building Subcode2021 International Building Code (IBC), NJ edits
Residential Subcode2021 International Residential Code (IRC), NJ edits
Mechanical Subcode2021 International Mechanical Code (IMC)
Fuel Gas Subcode2021 International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC)
Energy Subcode2021 IECC (residential) / ASHRAE 90.1-2019 (commercial)
Electrical Subcode2020 NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (NEC)
Plumbing Subcode2021 National Standard Plumbing Code (NSPC)
Barrier-Free SubcodeIBC Chapter 11 & ICC A117.1-2017

The Building, Residential, Mechanical, Fuel Gas, and Energy subcodes were adopted in September 2022 on a 2021 I-code basis, with a six-month grace period allowing applications submitted before March 6, 2023 to be reviewed under the prior code. As of August 2026, this 2021-based UCC remains the code of record statewide, and our models are coordinated against it accordingly.
